Peter Nagel is a Slovak pianist and educator. A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU) under Prof. Ida Černecká, he further studied at JAMU in Brno and international masterclasses. He has performed as a soloist with the Slovak Philharmonic, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, and Banská Bystrica Chamber Orchestra, and regularly appears at festivals in Slovakia and abroad. His latest album, Keys to the Present (2024), features works by Juraj Hatrík and Franz Liszt.
Alongside his solo career, he performs in a piano duo with Zuzana Patkoló. The duo won first prize at the 21st Century Art Competition in Vienna and premiered works of composer Ľuboš Bernáth. Their album Souvenirs (2025) was released by VŠMU Edition and Real Music House.
Peter is also involved in music journalism, occasionally contributing to Hudobný život, and serves as chairman of the Concert Artists Guild and a board member of the Music Fund Slovakia. He is Vice-Dean for Study Affairs at the Faculty of Music and Dance at VŠMU and Assistant Professor at its Department of Keyboard Instruments.
